A Bee Removal & Rehoming Story
Not all pest control calls involve pests that need to be eliminated. We often, receive calls to protected pollinators — and at Beeyond Pest Control, we take that responsibility very seriously.
A few weeks ago, we were called out to a home in Colchester where a honeybee nest had been living in the flat roof of a bedroom bay window for more than 15 years.
While the client confirmed that “the bees had never caused problems before, the latest swarm made us worry about potential structural damage to our property.” That’s when our expert team stepped in.
When our team arrived, the priority was to:
Protect the bees
Safeguard the property
Prevent future infestations
We carried out a full inspection of the area around the roof and bay window. Because the nest had been in place for so long, we knew this would require specialist bee removal equipment and careful handling to avoid damaging the hive or the structure.
We explained to Lianne (our client) exactly how we would remove and relocate the bees safely — without harming them.
Our team carefully opened the affected area and removed the honeybees, honeycomb, and hive structure. Every step was done slowly to ensure the queen and colony remained intact.
Once secured, the bees were transported to their new location, where they could continue to thrive in a safe environment.
A Sweet Ending
Lianne and her husband were thrilled — not only because their home was protected, but also because the bees were saved.
As a bonus, we returned some of their own honey in jars — straight from their roof.
